Another month, another post with little meaning

I was watching Thor: The Dark World, and thought to myself "Self, what if each world was a kingdom? And what if each kingdom was ruled by a different civilized race, and opposed by a different uncivilized race?".

And that's what the last post was for.

And it ties into this one: http://secretsoftheshadowend.blogspot.com/2013/06/the-voriskoghn-concepts.html

And that's all I'm saying for now, except that I have a new copy of the Dictionary of Imaginary Places, and I'm takin' notes.

  1. Well, it can be questioned as to whether or not the Giants can be called "civilized races." ;)

    Hehehehehehehe!

  2. Yeah, I'm thinking that some giants could be more civilized than ordinarily presented in D&D (although cloud giants, fire giants, and frost giants are all pretty cultured), and in other cases humans might be more present/interwoved in giant society than normal. In the Mabinogion, for example, there are giants that swear allegiance (after being defeated) to King Arthur.

  3. And some places might not follow the rules. Hel, for example, might be a land overrun by the undead, so they function as both the civilized and uncivilized forces.
